ISN'T SHE LOVELY?

In this new post, I would like to show you the last dress I made for Amelia this summer...

Pattern: ALTUR ATELIER
Fabric: Julian Lopez (Castellon)

This fabric was in the bottom of my treasures cupboard. I bought it few years ago in the fabulous Juan Lopez's sales.I love stripes patterns, and this is special because of its fluor red and the slightly blurred stripes, that drew my attention. And obviously, the fact that it is a natural fabric, a blend of cotton and linen, is key mainly for summer kids garments.

I rescued this fabric to maque a cute dres for my daughter combinig horizontal and vertical stripes. The outcome, a empire waist dress with horizontal stripes in the body and verticar in a gathered skirt.

I think this shape is very becoming on little girls, mainly if the skirt is short. (if you want to make the most of it during another year, leave more fabric on the hem but don't make the skirt long!)

I lined the whole dress with white cotton batiste.

I  sewed the hem by hand...

I finished the hem of the lining with the overlocker...

I love flounces, so I put one in each shoulder. I sewed on top of them some trimming that I found in one of my favorite shop, THE CLOTH HOUSE. I think this trimming gives a cool touch to the dress, doesn't it?.

This dress is fastened on the back, as I use to do for little girls.

And again, the buttons are from THE CLOTH HOUSE, and the button holes (as usual) are sewn by hand.

This has been one of Amelia's favorite dresses, she was comfortable and happy because was made by me.

I hope you liked it as much as she does...

The working hours are worth mainly when you see her so happy with her clothes made by her mum!!
